Just pretend there is classical music playing in the background as you read this article, or maybe switch on some Chopin or Brahms on your computer. My name is Teddy Iroh and I'd like to welcome you to the first installment of Teddy's Tours. This blog series will take all of you on tours of our own in-game locations on the site, showing you what they mean to us in OUR Soul Society. Our first stop: The Shin'o Academy!

It may not look like much but the Shinōreijutsuin is actually WAY bigger than this. The Seireitei itself is around the size of Texas and the Academy is estimated to be roughly similar in size to Dallas, making it literally city sized and capable of housing hundreds of thousands of students! The Academy is located in the South-East region of the Soul Society and stands as a neutral ground among the Divisions, so no squad can assert their jurisdiction upon the area.

As we all know, our Academy hosts each of the four biggest Clan Species in the Soul Society; Fullbringers, Shinigami, Quincies and Arrancar. The Academy is where all souls, who either display enough power or show enough potential, are remade by a fragment of the legendary Hogyoku into one of these unique species.

So what else is there to know about the Academy? Well, during our weekly tours, you'll be given information on its numerous zones and the subjects that are taught within. As opposed to the old Academy which only offered four subjects, this Academy now offers a total of sixteen different subjects!

Is there anything that hasn't changed from the old format? Yes! See the uniform and crest above? The old formats remain the same with the uniform being as it is, red for girls, blue for boys and the Academy crest on the front! Though there is talk of a gender-neutral silver colour option coming in from Gin Tonbo which sounds much cooler.

All in all, the Academy has a variety of different areas, passages, gates and outer areas, including the newly created Seireitei Grand Stadium, which we will explore in further detail in the next tour!
