bleach spotlight: Bambietta Basterbine

Are you ready?? We are starting a new Blog post series all about Bleach characters. I’m sure you all thought I would start with our lovely Shinigami… BUT NO! I’m starting with the new trending race in Bleach: the Quincy. And don’t they have badass women? One of them is the Wonderful Bambietta Basterbine.

Many of us fell in love with her in the last season of Bleach (if you haven’t seen it, I honestly don’t know what you are waiting for). But what do we know about her? Do you want to know interesting facts about Bambietta Basterbine? You came to the right place!

Who is Bambietta Basterbine?

Bambietta Basterbine, the self-proclaimed leader of the female sector of the Sternritter, having the designation of the letter “E”: The Explode. She is a female of 1,56 m tall, being her birthday the 6th of August. It is unknown how old she is exactly. While fighting, Bambietta Basterbine has the reputation of being sadistic and without showing sympathy towards her enemies. She also has a strong sense of survival and self-preservation.

Powers and abilities of Bambietta Basterbine

Bambietta Basterbine’s nickname is “The Explode”, so she was assigned the letter “E”. This has a reason, as her Schrift bestows in her ability to create bombs. But she doesn’t directly create the bombs… Her reishi, when it makes contact with something, turns that thing into a bomb itself.

Of course, she has also shown ability in sword fighting, reishi manipulation and a great spiritual power. Bambietta Basterbine is also able to move around the Seireitei using shadows, which gives her plenty of mobility in the battlefield.

Spirit weapon and Vollständing

Bambietta Basterbine can concentrate spiritual energy and particles into weapons, and her favourite one is a Zulfiqar, a short ornate broadsword.

Being such a powerful Quincy, Bambietta also has a Vollständing known as Zofiel. When Zofiel is released, a big amount of reiatsu is also released, creating a big column of red energy that ends in a Quincy cross. Bambietta Basterbine has red wings in the transformation and a Heiligenschein floating over her head.
Thanks to her Vollständing, Bambietta Basterbine can fly, so her mobility increases drastically. She also increases her durability, which was proved during her battle with Captain Komamura.
The special ability of her Vollständing is that she releases a big amount of orbs of reishi from her wings. Everything that comes into contact with them, explodes. These explosions are devastating.

So... Bambietta is pretty awesome, wouldn't you say? She has mobility, high spiritual energy, is smart, and her bombing ability can be very tricky. Did anyone wonder why she led the female Quincies? What do you think of Bambietta Basterbine? Please tell us in the comments!

Quincy in World of Reapers

If you are reading this article, you may be a big fan of Bambietta Basterbine, and maybe of the Quincy race as a whole.

In World of Reapers, you can create your own original Quincy, develop your powers bit by bit and have your own unique Spirit Weapon! You can even win a status and have your Vollständing power! Or the Sanrei Glove, if it’s more to your taste. In World of Reapers, the Quincy have been accepted into the Soul Society, joining the Gotei 13 or Central 46 if they wish too. The possibilities are endless!

Once you create a character, you will take a sorting test that will place you into one of the four Clans we have in WoR: Quincy, Fullbringer, Shinigami and Arrancar. If you manage to be sorted into the Quincy, you have a decision to make by using our Origin feature: if you are a human soul, you can choose between being an alive Quincy that lives in the Human World and occasionally visit the Soul Society, or a dead soul with Quincy power that lives in the Soul Society. The choice is yours!

Once these decisions are made, it’s the time to develop your character, creating a Profile Text and a Backstory. And then, run wild roleplaying and taking the classes to learn new abilities. We are waiting for you!
