bleach spotlight: Kenpachi Zaraki

Did you already miss us? Don’t worry, we came back soon with another article of a very peculiar character. Probably one of the most famous Captains that are in the Gotei 13. Tall, charming, love for violence, and a big heart. Yes, we are talking about Kenpachi Zaraki.
 

Who is Kenpachi Zaraki?

You don’t know who Kenpachi Zaraki is? Do you live in a cave? He was the Captain of the 11th Division, and many would say that the 11th Division is the strongest Squad. Kenpachi Zaraki is a big man, tall and with very developed muscles. The 11th Division is the most violent Squad, so you can imagine that Kenpachi Zaraki is not a peaceful man. He adores fighting, and would do it until he can’t even stand, because he is so obsessed with fighting. Kenpachi Zaraki likes fighting so much that he even holds in his power, so the battle lasts longer and he can enjoy it even more. So fitting for the 11th Squad, don’t you agree?

Powers and abilities of Kenpachi Zaraki

Not everyone could manage to win the respect of the shinigami of the 11th Division, but Kenpachi Zaraki managed! The beloved Captain is a very talented combatant and is a master swordsman. He is also very skilled in melee combat using his own body, so facing Kenpachi Zaraki in a fight would be a wrong idea.
We also have to keep in mind that Kenpachi Zaraki managed to reach the Captain position of the Gotei 13 without being able to use his shikai. He didn’t have any kind of contact with his zanpakuto. Now that he managed contact, we can only imagine the kind of power he has reached.
 

Zanpakuto: Norazashi

Kenpachi Zaraki encountered a dead shinigami in tbe Rukongai, and he decided to take his Asauchi. During many years, even when he was Captain, he didn’t know the name of his zanpakuto and, of course, couldn’t use his shikai or bankai. However, after his famous battle with Retsu Unohana, Kenpachi Zaraki could finally make contact with his zanpakuto spirit.

The release command of Kenpachi Zaraki’s shikai is “Drink”, and the form of the weapon changes drastically. It turns into a war axe, and it increases the attack power immensely. Kenpachi Zaraki was even able to cut a meteor, just with the power of his shikai, and he can cut even the space itself.

The release command of the bankai of Kenpachi Zaraki is unknown, but his physical appearance changes drastically too. His skin turns red, he has black marks in his face and even horns. He takes the form of a berserker. The weapon also changes, but turns into a smaller version of the shikai, as a contrast to Kenpachi Zaraki’s transformation. He increases immensely his physical strength and cutting power, being able to slash and cut in half an enemy. During this state, his intelligence and instincts are more similar to a beast than a human.

What conclusion can we come up with from Kenpachi Zaraki? NEVER cross him. He leads the strongest Division in terms of physical strength and ability with the sword, the most violent shinigami of the Soul Society! So, what do YOU think of Kenpachi? Please tell us in the comments!
