And we are back again with another big battle blog! Last time we looked at a great battle of ice versus ice and pitted our own Kanai Miho against the powerful Toshiro Hitsugaya. Now for this battle we will be delving into the realms of poison and venom as we take the sadistic mind and power of Mayuri Kurotsuchi and place it against the poisonous powers of our own Divine Commander of the Royal Guard, Hayami Nitta! This will surely be a great battle to analyse, not only thinking of the clashing personalities, but also the sheer similarity of their powers!

MAYURI KUROTSUCHI - Ashisogi Jizō

Now, analysing Mayuri's powers will be fairly easy for us. Ashisogi jizō's main capability is in the poisonous property of the blade in Shikai, when an opponent is stabbed, they'll be poisoned. Fairly simple and easy, right? WRONG! This special poison sends the opponent into a paralytic state regardless of where they're stabbed, however they are still capable of feeling pain. Creepy as hell and devastating to be a victim of. Furthermore, Ashisogi Jizō has a special ability in which Mayuri stabs the eye of the "baby" at the hilt which lets out a scream. Anyone that hears the scream for longer than 4 seconds will be instantly paralysed. Unlike the stabbing, this will paralyse any biological that hears it.

Now, in bankai, Ashisogi Jizō turns into a giant, gross baby-caterpillar thing that breathes a poisonous toxin made from Mayuri's blood. Anyone that is caught in the gas cloud, whether they breathe it in or not, will start to quickly decompose. The snag with this power is that Mayuri can also alter the composition of the poison at will, ensuring there is absolutely no way to cure it. This is only one of two of Mayuri's trump cards, as he also has the power to modify his bankai into various forms, so even if you managed to defeat the original Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō, Mayuri can create different forms that could likely counter whatever you throw at him.

HAYAMI NITTA - DAKUSAPENTO

Now we look at Hayami's Dakusapento. This zanpakutō can be seen equally as deadly as Ashisogi Jizō. In Shikai, Dakusapento forms into a blade made entirely of a liquid substance that Hayami can use both in close combat and at range to insert a deadly venom into her enemies. This venom can also corrode not only biologicals but any physical material.

So is there a bankai that can counter Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō? Well we do indeed already have one to analyse, Dākusāpento doku nadare. This is equally as terrifying. Dākusāpento doku nadare takes the form of an equally giant black snake made entirely of venom, likely similar in size to Mayuri's baby nightmare. Dākusāpento doku nadare also attacks on mental command by striking at an enemy like a snake, infecting them with venom upon contact. It's safe to say, the potency of the venom is greatly empowered in this form. However, a downside of this snake it that it secretes its venom in both a liquid and gas form all over the area, so if you're a friend, you'd better stand clear! For the purposes of equality, we won't delve into the bankai fusion form for this but I think we've got quite a fight already!

Final Battle - Dākusāpento vs Ashisogi Jizō

Both of these powers feel like they would have one hell of a match up against one another, to see who would succumb to the poison first. In Shikai, Hayami does seem to have the upper hand in terms of range, being able to poison Mayuri both at a distance and up close. All she'd need to counter Mayuri's Shikai ability is covering her ears. However, Bankai gets a bit more complicated.

In this case, the roles are switched and Mayuri has the high ground with range rather than Hayami, however, it can be assumed that one decent bite could spell the end of the conflict for Mayuri. Not to mention keeping an eye out for the mass of venom constantly pumping from the snake that Mayuri himself would need to evade. BUT, remember that Mayuri can change Ashisogi Jizō's form to counter most opponents, and it would be silly to believe the mad scientist couldn't think of something for a giant venom snake. What do we think? Does Hayami and Dākusāpento take the final win? Or would Mayuri and Ashisogi Jizō claim victory? Let us know in the comments and tell us who you think should be analysed next!
