BLEACH SPOTLIGHT: COMPARING THE ONE PIECE CHARACTERS

Hello hello everyone and welcome back again to out Bleach Spotlight blog series where we take all kinds of things related to Bleach and have a little chat about them! Well, today we have something that rather diverts away from the Bleach fandom and look even further beyond the screen at other anime worlds. Still, we all have our own collections of favourite fandoms, and today we're gonna go deep into the world of One Piece!
 

LOOKING AT THE ONE PIECE CHARCATERS

When it comes to taking a deep look at the characters of One Piece and comparing them to Bleach, we can probably quite easily make comparisons between the main team that surrounds Ichigo and the Straw Hat crew. First of all we have the main man himself, Monkey D. Luffy, Captain of the Straw Hats and the one determined to be the Pirate King. Then we have his First Mate, Roronoa Zoro, a serious and hard hitting swordsman who takes everything seriously and keeps the crew on track when Luffy cannot. Next on the line is Black Leg Sanji, the ship's cook and constant ladies man (when the ladies actually acknowledge him).

Continuing to form the main crew is Nami, the ship's navigator and crew member that's most obsessed with treasure and money. With her is Nico Robin, the crew historian who also holds special powers like Luffy. Then we also have Usopp, the crew's sniper and side line ship mechanic as well, though the main job of mechanic goes to "Iron Man" Franky, the cyborg shipwright. Finally, completing the whole crew is the undead skeletal ship musician and second swordsman Brooke, and the favourite of many, the ship's doctor Tony Tony Chopper.

CHOOSING THE BLEACH TEAM

Now, we have a total of nine characters in the One Piece world that we get to do a side by side with, so let's take a look at our own Bleach line up! Of course we all know that we have the main four, Ichigo Kurosaki, Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryu Ishida. But who would be the other five considered to be the integral parts of the team? Well, we would just have to include Kon as one, and most likely Rukia and Renji as well. For our last two, Yoruichi seems like a great choice to include in the main team and finally, the last addition would without a doubt be Ganju Shiba.
 

IF ONE PIECE CHARACTERS MET BLEACH CHARACTERS

So which of the Straw Hat crew would mirror well with the Bleach team? Well, Luffy would obviously go to chat with Ichigo. As the established leader of his crew, it would be made very clear that Ichigo is at least the representative of this team and Luffy would definitely want to size him up, which Ichigo would definitely accept. Zoro is a tough one as he would probably want to interact with a swordsman like himself. You'd think he would match up with Sado or Uryu, but personally I think Zoro would go chat with Renji. Their personalities and aspirations line up quite nicely and they'd have quite the interesting battle too.

Nami would no doubt get ambushed by Orihime and, after a little getting to know her, they would likely get along swimmingly. Nico Robin and Rukia's personalities are so extremely similar, there's no way they wouldn't chat with each other. Kon and Chopper, being the resident tiny people of the teams, would most likely talk to each other at first, but who knows if they would blend well, considering how integral to the teams function Chopper is, compared to Kon who isn't as much. For our remaining members, I think Usopp would clock Uryu as the group marksman and immediately rush to establish common ground, which would be tough thanks to Uryu's personality.

Funnily enough, I think Brook and Sado would be the ones to get together and talk, mainly with Brook trying to get Sado to crack a smile with some jokes and music. This leaves Frankie who would probably bond with Ganju over inventions considering the Shiba family's ingenuity with fireworks. And of course, who else would Sanji go and try to serenade with cooking than Yoruichi? Overall the Straw Hats would blend well with the primary Bleach team, but who do you think they'd chat with the most? Would Sanji choose one of the other girls to fawn over?
