Hello hello Soul Society residents! Today we are going to be bringing a very different kind of blog to your screens as we revive the Bleach Spotlight, but in a fairly different way! With this particular run of the Bleach Spotlight, I will be reaching out into the real world and bringing you all the latest news from Bleach, Burn the Witch, and chatter about all things in between. In this series we will talk about the latest anime news, leaks and drops from sources about new things, and also news around the grandmaster of our world, Kubo himself!

So for today's Bleach Spotlight, we will be reviewing something that I just cannot stop getting ads on Instagram for, the new Bleach game Rebirth of Souls!

Bleach's Video Game History

Unless you are a super hardcore Bleach fan, you likely won't have remembered a lot of the video games around the Bleach series, apart from perhaps Bleach: Brave Souls or the Roblox games we covered once before. However, you'd be surprised to know that there's been quite a lot of attempts at Bleach video games in the past. One of the earliest of these is Bleach Advance: Kurenai ni Somaru Soul Society. A game released for the Gameboy Advance, it didn't exactly blow the roof off of the anime world, being barely noticed and rated fairly low by those who actually did play it.

However, Bleach has had its share of high rated games, one of these being (funnily enough), the mobile game Bleach: Brave Souls. Now, I personally tried it and clocked out immediately but I'm not a mobile games person anyway. Still, it has been popular enough to earn a 9/10 rating on Steam and an average of 7.4 on Metacritic. Considering this follows only a little behind on the 8.1 score on Metacritic for Genshin Impact, this is a very solid review!

Mobiles aren't the only place Bleach has broken through though. Games like Bleach: Soul Resurrección and Shattered Blade have earned themselves modest reviews as well, and we also have Bleach: The 3rd Phantom which gained a widely popular vote from its players, likely thanks to the non-canon story being made entirely by Kubo himself!

What Can We Expect from Rebirth Of Souls?

So with the new Rebirth of Souls game already out, what are we getting from it? Well, so far it has been on track to be the best Bleach video game adaptation yet, releasing on PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. This game tells the full story of Ichigo's development, from his first meeting with Rukia all the way to the very end of the Arrancar arc. The game is focused on one versus one battles but also brings us through the story while we fight!

Can you use bankai? Yes. Can you annihilate opponents with a Getsuga Tenshou? YES. Do you get to experience the story interactively? YES! And most importantly... are the characters censored or uncensored? Well, be ready to see manga designs and not anime designs, so also YES!

I had a look at some gameplay for the game and I will say... it looks absolutely stunning. The graphics are amazing but the visuals of everything from the massive attacks to the basic sword swings look beautifully crafted. The game apparently delivers classic one versus one battle gameplay with the sword combo and breakage you get in games like Sekiro, and then the beautiful lore and visuals of Bleach itself. Thousand Year Blood War style.

Buy Or No?

I won't be one to tell you all to spend all your money, of course. Financial responsibility is super important. Always keep your money reserved for very important things, such as bills, groceries, travel, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls... Also emergencies, such as a broken washing machine, sudden debts, a lack of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls.

Basically if you have spare cash, try out Bleach: Rebirth of Souls. Myself and plenty of gamers who have actually played this game agree that this very well can be the Bleach game that blasts all other predecessors into the dirt. It looks stunning, it doesn't seem to have pacing problems, and it appears to give the players everything they could ask for in a Bleach specific game. I will certainly be getting it when I have the chance. And a better laptop.
