Hello hello all Reapers, Witches, and students! Welcome back again to your favourite recurring blog series (I know you love it), the WoR One v One! For the new people to the site, let me explain how this one works. In this series, we take a member of the WoR universe who has a graduate power placed in the Powers Club and put them up against a character from the fandom! In the past we've had Captains against Sternritters, Lietuenants against Gotei 13, and much more!

Now then, to our battle of the week! Last time we had your very own host (me) and my Rakurai fighting against Sternritter Candice Catnipp and her Barbarriel. Today, we are going to have a Fullbringer taking on a Shinigami in this battle of 1st Division Lieutenant Chōjirō Sasakibe against 10th Division Captain Chihiro Samejima!
 

Chōjirō Sasakibe - Gonryōmaru / Kōkō Gonryō Rikyū

Coming out of the blue corner, we start with Lieutenant Sasakibe and his Zanpakuto, Gonryōmaru! So Gonryōmaru is a lightning-type zanpakutō (the best kind, of course), and takes the form of a rapier sword. Elegant and classy. It may seem harmless but beware, this zanpakutō was powerful enough to puncture a hole in Yhwach. Now, in Shikai it doesn't have any abilities that we know of, but the power we do know about certainly makes it deadly enough!

Does Gonryōmaru have bankai? What a silly question. Kōkō Gonryō Rikyū gets shown off to us in full display during the Thousand Year Blood War when we see a young Sasakibe proving himself to Yamamoto by unleashing this dazzling bankai! In this form, Kōkō Gonryō Rikyū manipulates the weather, producing storm clouds and covering Sasakibe in a big lightning prison. In this form, Sasakibe can apparently direct lightning bolts from these clouds to strike at an opponent.

But there is one ability it has, Lightning Infusion. For this to work, Sasakibe moves his sword across the pillars, absorbing the lightning and using it to strike at his foe in a devastating blow, so powerful that it could'vr beheaded a young Head Captain Yamamoto. Imagine how powerful it would have been if he used it when he was older!

Chihiro Samijima - Kaminari no Shinigami / Yuganda Gaikaku

And now we move to the red corner, where we meet Captain Samejima and her Fullbring Kaminari no Shinigami! This Fullbring is really quite cool as it combines lightning power along with the ability to shift and shape weapons, a double edged power! This Fullbring comes in the form of a pendant which she shapes into a giant Reaper's scythe (very apt indeed). This scythe wraps her in electrifying lighting, but also gives her the ability to fuse the blade into her own body! Be careful if you're struck as well, because these blades can give off an electric shock that can cause damage, paralysis, or even death if it hits the right place!

As for abilities, this Fullbring has two; Odoru Kaminari no Ha which focuses on the weapon melding, allowing the Captain to merge with her weapon and make various blades stick out from all over her body. The second is Kaiten Suru Mikadzuki which leans more on the electric side. Creating crescent moon-style blades, Chihiro can chuck them at an opponent and blast them with electrifying impact!

But this isn't the end of her powers, as Chihiro is extremely unique around here. This Captain is the only one to hold her own personal Mod Soul Fighter! Yosuke as he is named, adds some extra fighting power to her arsenal, having the power to change himself into any weapon he wishes for her fights. With this Mod Soul comes a secret technique called Ultra Recall where Yosuke merges with Chihiro's weapon, allowing her to reform it as she chooses with great power and efficiency!

Final Battle - Gonryōmaru vs Kaminari no Shinigami

And the bell rings as the two combatants battle it out in our analysis section! Comparing the two in base forms, it seems that Chihiro does take the upper hand. In terms of raw power and experience, Chojiro would likely steal a win, but at the same time, Chihiro's Fullbring does possess more range of capability in her abilities than his zanpakutō does. I think it would be fair to say that if Chojiro managed to get one decent hit in, the match would be his.

As for Bankai versus Mod Soul boosting, it seems to be an even game. Both the Bankai and the Ultra Recall increases their user's power dramatically, but on scales of power, this might go to Chojiro. Then again, if Chihiro can create any weapon within seconds and keep switching to throw him off, as long as that Lightning Infusion ability is dodged, Chihiro would most definitely beat him down! All in all, it's evenly matched, but what do you all think? Comment and let us know!
