Good timezones to everyone on World of Reapers, and welcome back to the blog favourite, the WoR One v One! Our regular battle blog takes two opponents, one from our site, and one from the fandom, and puts them against each other in an epic anime battle to compare their powers and see who might win!

And now, let us proceed to our battle of the week! Last time we had Inks Director Maeve Sallow mounting her golden dragon and battling against Dalk, the metal fuelled doll of Go Koga. But today, we are focused on the classic bout of Shinigami versus Quincy. Or in this case, Shinigami versus god. Yes, today we place the powers of our own Head Captain Arata Saito against... Yhwach?! Seriously, I couldn't find any others that had comparable powers and that both confuses and concerns me.

Yhwach - The Almighty

So, we begin with the powers of Yhwach, whose powers are... complicated. So for the sake of the blog, we will skip over his Soul Distribution Power and Auswhalen and focus on his Schrift, The Almighty, and his power as the Quincy Soul King.

With his Schrift, Yhwach gains the power called The Almighty, which allows him three main abilities. Omni-precognition which allows him to look into all possible futures at once and predict actions based on that knowledge. A further ability he gains is Future Acausality where he can not only see the futures but also alter them into whatever outcome he decides! This allows him to lay traps for his opponents, counter any manoeuvre, and even change fate if he might die. The final ability he gains with the Almighty is Instant Adaptability, which basically means any ability he knows through the Almighty can be adapted to him, making him able to use it and immune to harm from it.
And now, his power as the Soul King, which only gets more terrifying! The basics he gets are; Energy Manipulation, Barrier Generation for defence, Enhanced Spiritual Power, Increased Reishi Control, Hollow Immunity, and opening Dimensional Portals. But to stay relevant to this battle, let's talk about these three powers specifically; First, Torrent of the Soul King's Power, a fully offensive attack where Yhwach throws masses of black eyes with teeth at his opponents for massive offensive power! Second, Matter Transmutation. This power allows Yhwach to completely alter matter around him to his liking, which could certainly prove to be a very problematic power for our combatant! And finally, Worldly Assimilation, which... well. I think you can guess, and it ain't good.

Arata Saito - Mugen Zangeki

Now then, how could HC Saito's Mugen Zangeki possibly match this? Well, that answer is coming up! To keep things basic, Mugen Zangeki, at first, is a blade that focuses on melee power, being able to switch between being insanely sharp or insanely blunt at will. Of course, this comes with two abilities in Shikai, Senkenodori for the sharp feature, and Jōkū Bakuha for the blunt side. Both can deal a hell of a lot of damage, but it's the bankai where things get interesting.

In Bankai, Mugen Zangeki becomes Wakareru Genjitsu, Divided Reality. The melee side increases drastically, allowing Mugen Zaneki to cut both the physical and non-physical. This power comes in four forms; cutting through light with Hikari Wakeru, cutting through sound and amplifying it with Shindō Haretsu, cutting through time with Jikan Zangeki, and the most deadly ability of them all, cutting a hole in space itself with Kūkyo Waikyoku. Now, how does this possibly help kill a god? It doesn't. This next bit kind of does so pay attention!
You see, the true power of Mugen Zangeki isn't exactly cutting things, but manipulating reality itself. In Bankai Fusion, the final form of Mugen Zangeki, is Inga no Shiroiakuma, White Demon of the Nexus. Now, we had a chat with the HC himself to fully explain what happens in this state and here's what we learned;
"Mugen Zangeki turns itself and myself into an anomaly in causality. Reality bends and breaks around us, becoming fractured and unstable. In this state, I can feel the strings of reality around me, and my zanpakutō has the power to cut those strings at will. Though it requires an insane amount of focus and concentration or else... well, I die and take a lot of casualties with me, both physical and otherwise."

Basically, Mugen Zangeki has the ability to render reality and causality, rupturing reality in the vicinity and causing powers to become... off. With his fusion comes two abilities; Mujō and Inga Kankei Haretsu. Mujo allows Saito to completely disrupt reality in objects and people, spiralling them out of control. Whereas Inga Kaneki, that one is the one that deals the real damage, completely erasing the concept of a person and all futures and realities they may inhabit.

Final Battle - The Almighty vs Mugen Zangeki

Now, we come to the final battle, Yhwach versus Arata Saito, Mugen Zangeki versus The Almighty. Who wins? Well, with the Almighty, I think it's safe to say that the HC would stand a chance for a while, but have absolutely no defence against changing the future. Yhwach would floor him in an instant. BUT, what if we had the Almighty versus Inga no Shiroakuma? Now that's where things get interesting.

Yhwach holds the power to see and alter the future, but Saito holds the power to completely break down reality. The question is this, which concept trumps the other, the future, or reality? Because we've seen that changing Yhwach's state of being doesn't work (nice try Ichibe), but if Saito were to somehow get the drop on Yhwach and use Inga Kankei Haretsu, he would not only delete Yhwach but every possible future he has, which might actually negate his Future Acausality! This is indeed a tough battle to call, since there's also the possibility of Yhwach seing Mugen Zangeki's power and negating the fusion before it can even be used.

Honestly, this one I really can't call so I'm calling it a draw. But what do you think? Does future altering have higher power over breaking causality? Let us know in the comments!
