Hello, Reapers! Another week, another RP Prompt!

Feeling a little bored? Stuck in a writing rut? Or perhaps your character has been sitting around the site waiting for something interesting to happen?

Well, consider this your sign to shake things up! If you’re looking for a little inspiration to get those creative juices flowing, why not jump into this week’s RP Prompt? Whether you use it to start a brand new thread, throw your character into an unexpected situation, or simply spark an idea for something of your own, we hope it gives you the little push you need to get writing!

#9. 'Tis a new academic year, and as you go through your things to make sure you are ready for your classes, you stumble upon an old dusty book. Who's is it? What do you do with it?

An interesting prompt awaits you this week, Reapers!

So, what is your character going to do? Will they rise to the occasion, make a questionable decision, or somehow manage to find themselves in even more trouble? There’s only one way to find out!

We’re excited to see what you come up with and, as always, we can’t wait to see how you put your own spin on the prompt. Let your characters take the lead and see where the story takes you!

Not quite sure how to participate in the challenge? No worries! Check out the information below for a quick guide on how to get started. ;)

01 First Steps How Can I participate?

This is a guide if you haven't done this before.

Every week a new rp prompt will be posted. You are allowed to participate in any one that strikes your fancy, even if it isn't the one from the current week. For your prompt to be counted you need to have your character interact with it in some way (just like a homework assignment.)

Here are some ways to participate:

a) Start a topic somewhere around the site.
(You can have others join you as well!)
b) Include it in your backstory.
c) Post it on your wall.
d) Send it via courier.
e) Write it as part of a class assignment as long as it fits with the rest of the homework.
f) Use another method that comes to mind!
(Just make sure you confirm by sending a courier to Maeve Sallow first)
02 Written and Done! All Done?

I've written the prompt what to do now?

If your method of choice was not to send it in a courier, but rather to post it around the site, then you need to make sure to send a courier anyways to Maeve Sallow with the link of the written prompt or if you've chosen to write it as a task, then the task itself!
Here are some things to keep in mind:

a) Follow the site's RPG rules when writing.
(Check the Guide to RPG)
b) If you write a wallpost you may choose the wallpost to be non-canon for your character, as long as it is mentioned somewhere in there.
c) The prompt can be set in the past, present or future, as long as your character interacts with it in some way, the rest is up to you!
d) Remember you can always write a solo topic but if you decide to write with someone else then your characters don't have to interact with the prompt the same way, or in the same capacity.

(e.g. You are both send on a mission perhaps one of you chases the Hollows and the other is gathering information.)
e) You can find the weekly prompt on the golden box in the main post after the mini poem and intro.

03 Gimme More! Other Prompts

This week hasn't inspired me :(

You are not feeling this week's prompt? Don't fret! Perhaps something posted a previous week might! If you choose one of these however make sure to say which number it is!
*Due to the prompts being posted each week we will only include the ones posted on the year prior. If you want to go further back you will have to search them from the blog posts.

Here is a list of the prompts posted last year:

#1. {%FIRSTNAME%}, receives a message meant for someone else. They weren’t supposed to see it.
#2. A place {%FIRSTNAME%} visits regularly feels different today.
Quieter. Emptier. Ominous.
#3. The alarm is sound in the dead of night. A Hollow is roaming at your section of living quarters.
What will you do?
#4. Finally you are out on a mission paired with a partner you haven't really interacted before.
You are waiting on the rendezvous point for them but they are late. From the bushes you suddenly hear a sound followed by movement....
#5. A palpable shift in tension fell over the space between them, his eyes narrowered as they honed in on {%FIRSTNAME%} with a sudden fierce intensity and focus at the mere mention of the word.
An over-stretching grin parted along his face, expecting to intimidate his targets with the gesture. He dropped into a fighting stance then...
"Game on."
#6. A sudden silence swept through the training grounds.
The usual sounds of sparring steel and distant conversation had vanished without warning. Across from {%FIRSTNAME%}, a wooden practice dummy slowly turned its head.
Then another.
And another.
Something had gone very wrong.
#7. The streets were quiet as you took your stroll. Meeting some friends, colleagues, perhaps someone special?
As you were about to arrive to the meeting area the sky crackled. A wave of hollows bursted in.
The emergency sirens started ringing around the area. When your eyes met with the one you were supposed to meet, they were already captured.
What will you do?
#8. Not every place in the Living World appeared on a map.
Some simply... existed.
Nestled within a secluded glade, concealed by towering trees that formed an almost impenetrable wall around it, stood an aging cabin that seemed forgotten by time itself. The air was calm, absent of the usual hum of civilization, while faint traces of reiatsu lingered just enough to suggest someone, or something called this place home.
For whatever reason had brought {%FIRSTNAME%} here, one thing was certain.
They weren't the first to discover it.
