bleach spotlight: LAST OF THE THOUSAND YEAR BLOOD WAR

WARNING, THERE WILL BE MILD SPOILERS!
Are any of you as thrilled with the Thousand Year Blood War series and also as anxious as I am? Because I really don't know if I could possibly wait an entire month for the final two episodes that will close the curtain on the Thousand Year Blood War arc and settle the short rule of the Quincy overlord Yhwach once and for all. And with the changes we've seen in the last few episodes, there is one question on everyone's mind; What could possibly change in the last episodes?"

We had so many surprises that were quite different from what we've seen in the manga that Tite Kubo himself placed within the Thousand Year Blood War episodes, such as the pure focus on the dark, gritty action and story, the much better fight from the Royal Guards, and of course Orihime and Ichigo's INSANE power ups! So, let's recap a bit and also do a little theory making on what might be next for the series.
 

The Biggest Thousand Year Blood War Changes

We'll go further into depth on some of these in future blogs, but for now, let's highlight some of the most important changes in the anime so far versus the manga.

The Quincy-Shinigami feud was explained better. This is a gripe many have had, with some even saying the Quincies deserved to win because the Shinigami seemed to get the win just because. Now, we understand much more about how and why the feud started, ran, and ended.

Uryu's defection was given more pacing. In the THousand Year Blood War manga, Ishida's defection wasn't helped by him being out of the picture for a lot of it, giving a lot of shock to his sudden betrayal. However, now the anime gave his defection more explanation as well as introducing a conflict that showed how he felt about betraying his friends and even adding more to the drama of the whole arc.

Orihime's justice and Ichigo's Bankai. So many fans have felt Orihime was treated like less than nothing and Kubo heard everyone's wishes, giving her not only a power moment, but making her surprise us all with power almost equal to that of the Almighty itself. That, and then Ichigo's hollow chain bankai, which put the anime world in a standstill, staring at a black moon. Were these necessary? Maybe, maybe not. But damn they were awesome to see.

What's in store in the future?

Well, now that we've left off the previous episode with Aizen and Ichigo's battle against Yhwach and the aftermath of that, along with the insane cliffhanger we were given... what could possibly happen in the future episodes? Well, any Bleach fan worth their salt knows how this will ultimately turn out so we don't need to discuss that. The question is the method of delivery.

As we've seen so far, Kubo is keeping in line with the original story of the Thousand Year Blood War and using the anime as a means to perfect an otherwise rushed (his own words) ending to his magnum opus. Will we see Ichigo's new form again? I think so. Will we see Orihime exercise her powers again? I am optimistic but it does seem unlikely as well. I think we are also ging to get a very dramatic resolution that will revolve exclusively around Ichigo and Uryu, and as usual, Sado will be on the sidelines. The only things that remain in question are what purpose will the newly assembled Fullbringer team serve in the last two episodes? And will we see Ichibe coming back again for some... purposes?

THe Final Thousand Year Blood War Episodes

We only have two more episodes to go! And with Kubo taking an extra month to properly perfect his ending and create something that will blow the Bleach fans away, we can only wait with anticipation and excitement! The final episodes are set to be aired on October 19th and October 26th.
