FIRST DIVISION

The first division of the Gotei 13 distinguish itself for its leadership position, due to the Head Captain being also its captain. The 1st Division barracks are a focal point in Seiretei, being in the center and including the rooms dedicated for captains and lieutenants meetings. The barracks also hosts the Great Central Undergound Prison, dedicated to Gotei 13 officers who broke the law.

Due to the motif of leadership in the 1st Division, every seated officer is the leader of their own army, as well as being an essential key to one of the many major parts of the Head Captain's duties. Each member of the 1st Division armies are hand picked by the officer themselves. Some officers, such as the 9th Seat, have their own base in their area of operation. The 1st Division has small bases in Hueco Mundo, the Noble Realm, and Reverse London.

The 1st Division officers quarters are located on Sokyoku Hill, where each officer has their own small house to live. The armies use the 1st Division barracks for their residency. Upon Sokyoku Hill, there is a large training arena which doubles as a cookout place where the Head Captain had a fire pit installed.
